Imagine someone asked:
“Can God create a QZXFNLBP?”
This is not a valid question.
It does not prove anything, because it has not ASKED anything.
Now imagine they asked:
“Can God create a triangle with 4 sides?”
This looks like they have asked a question, but the truth is they have not asked a question at all.
“A triangle with 4 sides” is as meaningless as “a QZXFNLBP”.
Some more examples:
- “a married single person”
- “a square circle”
All of these phrases are UNDEFINED phrases.
They are NOT impossible objects.
The omnipotence paradox tricks you into thinking these are impossible objects, when actually it’s the words that are UNDEFINED.
Thus, when they ask:
“Can God create a stone that He cannot lift?”
They are asking:
“Can God create a QZXFNLBP?”
Because “a stone that He cannot lift” is an UNDEFINED phrase.
I can prove that it’s undefined, because the people asking the question could never define it.
You could ask them:
- How big is this stone?
- What shape is it?
- What colour is it?
They will not be able to define it. Thus, it is UNDEFINED.
Thus proving that the omnipotence paradox was nothing more than a cheap trick all along…
I Can Take This Even Further
If God was not omnipotent, then the phrase “a stone that He cannot lift” would be DEFINED.
It would have a specific size, weight, shape, etc.
If it was DEFINED, the paradox would no longer be a paradox.
Thus, by producing a paradox, it PROVES that God is indeed omnipotent after all.
